Parent Governor

Dear Parents
Planning is well underway to form the new Cedar Tree Federation from 1st January 2020. One of the important steps in the Autumn term is to hold elections for two parent governors to join the Cedar Tree Governing Body.
The role of governors is to:
1) set the aims and objectives for the schools in the Federation
2) set the policies and targets for achieving those aims and objectives
3) monitor and evaluate the progress the schools are making and act as a source of challenge and support to the executive headteacher and leadership team.
Typically there are up to 6 meetings a year, held in the evening of 1-2 hours in length and governors also belong to a committee which will involve some further meetings. Full training is provided. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive contribution for children at the schools and for the wider community.
If you would like to find out more, please see the information letter below or contact our clerk, Jackie Doyle in the school office or by emailing . Alternatively you could speak to  Rachel Phillips, who is a current parent governor,  or contact her by email on
If you are interested in becoming a governor please submit a nomination form to Mrs Doyle by noon on 18th October.
