Mathematics: At Woodbury C of E Primary School, we recognise the importance of Maths in every aspect of daily life.  As one of the core subjects taught in Primary Schools, we give the teaching and learning of Maths the prominence it requires. Learning in Maths is concerned with increasing pupils’ ability to solve problems, develop their reasoning, and relate their learning to everyday life.  Our teaching of Maths through the use of Maths No Problem, helps the children develop their exploration of numerous problems, and supports their understanding of Maths through discussion and questioning.

Maths No Problem provides a structure and skill development for the Maths curriculum being taught throughout the school. We endeavour to ensure that the children have regular opportunities to show their depth of understanding through open-ended investigation style problems at the end of each unit to allow them to reason, conjecture, generalise and explain their learning in their ‘journals’.   Our aim is for the children to become confident problem solvers, and equip them with the tools that they will need in their future lives.
