We believe education is a partnership between home and school. By actively working together with high aspirations and commitment we can ensure the best education for our children.
An excellent education will give your child the best start in life, giving them the skills they need to succeed both socially and in the workplace. The love, care and time you give your child at home is critically important to your child’s well-being and education. The value parents and carers have upon their child’s learning cannot be over-estimated - talking to them about what they see, sharing how you learn, including how it feels when things are hard, reading to them and celebrating the effort they have made rather than the end outcome, all make a huge difference.
When your child starts at Woodbury we ask you to sign a home-school partnership agreement, pledging your commitment to working together to provide the best education. We also sign this agreement along with the child and it is revisited during your child's time at Woodbury.
We operate an open door policy and all teachers are available in class before registration and at the end of the school day if you need to talk to them. If you have a problem or something is bothering you, please tell us as soon as possible so we can help. If you would prefer, you can also make an appointment to speak to our Assistant Head, Special Educational Needs Coordinator or the Head of School as required; please contact the school office who will be happy to arrange an appointment for you.
At Woodbury we provide regular information on pupil progress to parents and carers and offer opportunities for you to support and celebrate your child’s successes. Parents and carers are also kept up to date with events and important notices via the weekly newsletter (see News), texts and the recently introduced Virtual Platform.
Helping in School
We are very keen to involve parents and carers in the daily life of the school. If you would like to help, perhaps hearing children read or helping in class please let us know. All volunteers will need to complete a criminal records check before being able to work in school. Please see the Volunteers page for more information.
We have a thriving PTFA of which every parent is automatically a member. The PTFA organise social and fundraising activities throughout the year which support the school by providing additional resources as well as opportunities for the school community to relax and socialise together. Please see the PTFA page for more information.

We use first party and third party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our Services to operate, and we refer to these as “essential” cookies. Other cookies enable us and the third parties we work with to track and target the interests of visitors to our Services, and we refer to these as “advertising” or “analytical” cookies. For example, the embedding of YouTube and Vimeo videos, as added by individual schools will require “advertising” cookies to be enabled in order to successfully play them. Schools that, for example, opt to track visitor data using Google Analytics will require “analytical” cookies to be enabled in order to do so. These third party cookies are used to tailor content and information that we may send or display to you and otherwise personalise your experience while interacting with our Services and to otherwise improve the functionality of the Services we provide. We also enable schools to employ cookies and similar tracking technologies in connection with their use of our Services in order to allow them to track visitors to and interactions with, their school website.
Our Services allows schools to embed code which may potentially contain cookies. Please note embedded content, if displayed on one our websites, has been added by the school and not by eSchools. The embedded content added by the school may require additional cookies or tracking technologies to be enabled in order to function.
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. Be aware that cookie preferences are set on a per device basis; therefore you may need to set your preferences on each device you use.
