Religious Education


Religious Education and Other World Views: RE lessons engage children to 'learn about' and 'learn from' religions and world views.  At Key Stage 1 pupils learn about different beliefs about God and the world around them by encountering and responding to a range of stories, artefacts and other religious materials.  Key Stage 1 pupils study Christianity and one other religion.  They are encouraged to ask questions and talk about what is important to themselves and others.  At Key Stage 2 pupils investigate and consider the impact of religion, making connections between different faiths/ beliefs and how these are expressed.  Key Stage 2 pupils study Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism and Islam and also non-religious worldviews such as Humanism, whilst considering their own beliefs and beliefs of others.
