Woodbury C of E Primary School

Pupil Roles

We expect all our children to take responsibility for their learning and welfare as well as that of others.

In each class there is a strong sense of community with the children contributing to the running of their class by undertaking various responsibilities.

Within school, there are a number of important roles which are undertaken by the children. The roles are mainly for the older children who are either appointed or elected for the position. By taking on these roles the children develop their confidence and resourcefulness as well as learning about democracy, service and responsibility.  All of the roles are highly valued and through them the children have a genuine voice in the running of the school.  The leadership team has regular contact with all of the groups and their ideas are frequently taken on board by the Head Teacher and other staff.
